Namaste, the greeting of kindness and respect. To all the Tenants of our new home on the Square, we look forward to welcoming a new taste of flair and spice and to building friendships with you all.

With aromatic spices imported from India, handpicked herbs, self grown organic vegetables, complemented by the best of local famers produce, we will soon be captivating the sense of smell to all walking the square. North Indian at its best.

The Raj on the Square is proud to host patrons to our new restaurant located at the Nelson Mandela Square from Friday, 13th August 2021.

The Raj Restaurant started when the Founder and Owner Dr Arun Jairath, a Opthamologist by trade, realized the need for a Indian restaurant in South Africa. In 1995 the very first The Raj Restaurant was opened in Kyalami and since then, the brand has evolved into a successful well-known chain that has become a household name in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.

What makes The Raj on the Square different from all the others, is that we have conceptualized a multi-faceted, exciting offering to all.

This restaurant will not only serve our traditional North Indian menu, but we will be offering Indian style pizza, pies and ice-cream, in addition to having a opulent private room. We will have a Indian mini market within the space, where spices and rice can be purchased, along with frozen hand crafted pastries. We also have stalls where hookah pipes and dried fruits and nuts can be purchased.
